A Specials Procurement Administrator from NRS in Bournemouth is representing British Shooting at the ISSF World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Jonathan Andrews, aged 40, is competing in the 50m prone rifle category and said being selected to compete “feels as if all my hard work over several years, has finally paid off!”
The opening ceremony for the event takes place today, Tuesday 15th August, and continues until 1st September.
Jonathan, who has worked at NRS Healthcare for more than 17 years, first started shooting when he was around 12 years old. He said:
“I remember my dad drove my brother to several rugby and cricket matches and asked if I would like to try anything new. At the time we were driving to Bournemouth Sports Club and there was a sign advertising target shooting and it just carried on from there.”
This will be the second time Jonathan has represented British Shooting; the first time back in the 2016 World Cup in Munich.
He travelled to Baku earlier in the month, ready for the two-week competition and said: “It feels great to have been selected for the World Championships.”
