NRS Healthcare reached a milestone in the number of employees completing fall fighter training during Falls Prevention Awareness Week (18th - 22nd September).
A total of 1,000 staff from across all areas of the business, have now undertaken The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) accredited course since it was introduced just over a year ago.
The Fall Fighters programme forms part of NRS Healthcare’s Learning Academy and is available to all staff, helping them provide a better service to those we support across the country.
Simon Jones, Head of Health, Safety and Environment, said:
“Falls are the single biggest cause of accidental injuries in the home, and sadly the largest cause of accidental fatalities among over-65s in the UK. By joining the RoSPA Fall Fighter community, NRS Healthcare has helped our people to understand why falls happen and what they can do to prevent them. We are proud to have passed a significant milestone of training 1000 of our people as “Fall Fighters” and helped to raise awareness of falls prevention across our business.”
Earlier this year, NRS Healthcare was presented with a RoSPA Gold Award earlier this year for its commitment to health and safety excellence.
