Award winning service transformation: Project ‘Go Safe’

Project ‘Go Safe’ was launched in four acute Hospitals in West Sussex in January 2023. The scope of the project was widened to a further 6 community hospitals. Thanks to the success of the project 1153 people have been discharged from hospital with a TEC solution(s) to support their recovery and independence at home.

The innovative project was set up for an trial 3-month period as ‘Winter Pressures’ with funding aimed at reducing hospital winter pressures was renamed ‘Go Safe’ when further funding was granted to allow the project to continue beyond the winter.

Initially NRS Healthcare technicians were located in hospitals, able to offer advice and supply TEC solution(s) on the day to allow the patient to be discharged in a more timely manner.

To date, the project has:

➡️Increased availability of beds for the people who need them most.

🏥1153 people benefitting from timely hospital discharge typically 1-5 days earlier than without TEC.

👩‍⚕️586 practitioners receiving additional information and advice.

⏱️282 hours of clinical time saved.

📈Savings for the NHS of up to £3.4m.
