Nearly two years after it’s long awaited refit – our demonstration vehicle Pegasus, finally hit the streets again.

Working closely with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay Council, our Torbay Technology Enabled Care (TEC) team were able to site our demonstration vehicle at several locations in the Torbay area in the first two weeks of this month.

With the aim of promoting technology enabled care and it’s benefits to members of the public and health and social care staff, we visited high streets, hospitals and car parks in shopping areas to meet as many people as possible.

Our Torbay NRS team were supported by NHS and council staff, colleagues from around the business, and volunteers from a local charity - Netfriends. A special mention must go out to the TECS Advocates who gave up days off to come and spend time with us. The TECS advocates are members of teams we work closely with in the local authority and NHS who are the resident ‘experts’ on TECS, relatively newly appointed, they are proving invaluable to the service.

Chris Headon, Operations Manager for NRS Healthcare Torbay TECS team said

“We thoroughly enjoyed being back in the community and helping people face-to-face. It was great to hear the positive feedback we received about NRS from our service users, their families and the people we work with. I would like to issue a huge thank you to those people from outside our team who joined us, especially John from Netfriends and those TEC advocates who supported us so well. Our TECS team provide a valuable service to the community and it was fantastic to be able to promote our varied service to so many people throughout Torbay and South Devon. ”

Despite some appalling weather, the multi-disciplinary team made many contacts and introduced TEC to a wide audience, answering a variety of questions and showing all the solutions we have available.

It was a fantastic two weeks and great to be back in the community; meeting our service users, their families and those we work with closely again.
